Westport selectmen hear second pitch for medical marijuana facility

WESTPORT — For the second selectmen meeting this month, a non-profit group asked the selectmen for a letter of non-opposition toward developing a medical marijuana dispensary in town. This time — Xiphias Wellness Inc. requested to develop a facility at 95 State Road, close to the Fall River line.

But, like the last meeting, selectmen agreed to table the items and asked Xiphias representatives for more information. Valerio Romano, a lawyer representing the group, and David Brayton, a Tiverton resident and chief executive officer of Xiphias, pitched their plans to the board about a 10,000 square foot facility that would act as a cultivation center, processing facility and dispensary…
