Twenty-five other states have already adopted laws allowing the use of the medical marijuana, but this past legislative session lawmakers in Nebraska fell three votes short of the 33 they needed to break a filibuster and vote on the medical marijuana bill championed by Senator Tommy Garrett.

The non-profit group Nebraska Families 4 Medical Cannabis were heartbroken with the outcome.
