Move on to lift March 1 deadline for local medical marijuana ordinances



State lawmakers are one step closer to removing the March 1 deadline for local medical marijuana ordinances from the Medical Marijuana Regulation and Safety Act — or MMRSA — after unanimously passing AB 21 on Wednesday.

“Nobody intended to give local lawmakers such a short timeline to develop regulations for an industry as complex as medical cannabis,” Assemblyman Jim Wood said in a press release from his office.
