Kansas House Passes Bill to Reduce Marijuana Penalties; Allow Access to Low-THC Medical Marijuana Oils

TOPEKA, KS — Lawmakers in the Kansas House passed a bill Thursday that would reduce marijuana possession penalties, authorize the study of industrial hemp cultivation, and allow limited medical marijuana use for patients suffering from seizures.

The bill, House Bill 2049, passed on an “Emergency Final Action” by a vote of 81 to 36, sending the bill to the Senate without the need for additional readings or debate in the House.
