Federal Bill to Legalize CBD-Rich Medical Cannabis Strains Filed in US Senate

WASHINGTON, DC — Bipartisan legislation has been filed in the United States Senate to exempt cannabidiol (CBD) and cannabidiol-rich strains of cannabis from the definition of marijuana in the Controlled Substances Act.

U.S. Senators Cory Gardner (R-CO) and Ron Wyden (D-OR), along with co-sponsors Sens. Johnny Isakson (R-GA), Jeff Merkley (D-OR), Orrin Hatch (R-UT), and Michael Bennet (D-CO), introduced S.1333,  the Therapeutic Hemp Medical Access Act of 2015, on Wednesday.
