Virginia Senate Votes to End Automatic License Suspension for Marijuana Possession

RICHMOND, VA — Lawmakers in the Virginia Senate have approved a bill that would end an automatic six-month driver’s license suspension for first offense possession of marijuana.

Senate Bill 1091 is sponsored by Sen. Adam Ebbin (D-Alexandria), who has introduced several measures this year to reduce marijuana penalties in the state, including a decriminalization bill that was killed earlier this week by a key committee.
