Support for Marijuana Legalization Growing in New Hampshire
DURHAM, NH — A growing number of adults in New Hampshire support legalizing marijuana, according to a new poll released Thursday.
According to the Granite State Poll released Thursday, sponsored by WMUR-TV and conducted by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center, 60% of adults in New Hampshire support legalizing marijuana for recreational use, with only 35% opposed. The remaining 5% were neutral or unsure.
The poll’s findings represent an increase since a similar Granite State Poll released in May, which found 54% in favor of legalization.
If marijuana were to be legalized in the Granite State, 70% of those polled approve of selling it at licensed retail outlets and taxing it, similar to how alcohol is sold.
