Second Marijuana Legalization Drive Begins in Maine
PORTLAND, ME — A second signature drive to place a proposal to legalize marijuana in Maine on the 2016 ballot began Thursday after getting the green light to begin gathering signatures earlier this week.
The Campaign to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol, backed by the Washington, DC-based Marijuana Policy Project, held a press conference at Monument Square in Portland to kick off the signature drive Thursday. The campaign was given approval by state officials to begin collecting signatures earlier this week.
