Mississippi Bans Marijuana Policy Project From Fundraising

The chances for marijuana legalization in Mississippi suffered a setback recently when the government there banned the Marijuana Policy Project from fundraising in the state.

According a fundraising email from MPP Executive Director Rob Kampia, the state decided to block the group from fundraising because he is a convicted felon. Kampia was convicted of illegally growing marijuana for personal use in 1989 while in college and served three months in prison.
