Marijuana Sales Won’t Be Banned in North Pole, Alaska

NORTH POLE, AK — Santa Claus, and other residents in North Pole, Alaska, could be allowed to legally purchase marijuana starting next year.

On Monday, the North Pole City Council voted 2-5 to reject a proposal that would have banned marijuana stores from opening in the city whose moto is “where the spirit of Christmas lives year round.”

Among those speaking against the ban was a North Pole resident named Santa Claus.
