Marijuana Legalization Bill Filed in New Mexico

House Bill 75 would tax and regulate marijuana sales to adults, but is unlikely to pass in 2016.

SANTA FE, NM — In advance of the upcoming 2016 legislative session, a New Mexico lawmaker has pre-filed a bill that, if passed, would legalize marijuana for adults 21 and older.

State Rep. Bill McCamley (D-Las Cruces) pre-filed House Bill 75, titled the “Cannabis Revenue & Freedom Act,” in late December.
