Maine lawmakers seek to delay launch of rec industry

Maine legislators agreed Wednesday on legislation to postpone implementation of parts of the state’s new law legalizing adult-use marijuana until Feb. 1, 2018.

The law was scheduled to take effect on Oct. 30, 2017.

The proposed bill would have a big impact on the retail side of Maine’s cannabis industry. According to the Bangor Daily News:

  • State officials would receive more time to develop sales and licensing stipulations.
